Saturday at Estes-Leadley Funeral Homes, Greater Lansing Chapel. DEATHS FUNERALS Zella M. Pitts Lansing Born July 16, 1917, in Lansing, MI, 1 to Lydia and Fred E. Lenon; died June 16, 2010, at the age of 92. She was predeceased by her husband, Rolland (also known lovingly as Skeet) Pitts in 1981 who she was married to for over years.

Also deceased are her sisters and their husbands, Ruby Pratt in 1988 and Gerald in 1975; Mary Jane Terrill in 1990 and Gordon in 1995. Zella was a lifelong resident of the Lansing area and upon finishing school she became a hairdresser, then a stay at home wife. Although she had no children of her own she helped to raise all of her nieces and nephews becoming a second Mom to all of them. Zella was a friend to everyone who met her. She was generous to a fault, caring for those she loved.

Zella is survived by her sister, Mattie Lou Lenon of Lansing; nephews, Harry S. (Cathy) Terrill of North Carolina, Fred Pratt of Florida, Lee (Tamberlene) Terrill of Grand Ledge and Robert (Valerie) Pratt of Lansing; nieces, Melody (Llwyn) Atwood and Lori (Gary) Patterson both of Lansing; and numerous grand and great nieces and nephews. Funeral services will be held Saturday, June 19, at noon at the Gorsline-Runciman Funeral Homes, 900 E. Michigan Lansing. Interment will follow in Chapel Hill Memorial Gardens, Lansing.

He was born in Calumet, Michigan on March 16, 1920 son of Henry and Rose (Bussiere) Barrons. He was a veteran of World War II serving with the 8th Army Air Force. He was a graduate of Michigan Tech University in 1949 earning a B.S.

degree in Metallurgical Engineering. Howard worked for the Michigan Department of Transportation for 34 years and retired in 1985. Howard married the love of his life Gertrude Nicholls on February 7, 1942, and she survives him. Also surviving are his six children, Gayle Barrons, Marcia (Steve) Maiville, Fr. Brian Barrons 'M.

Carol (Dave) Schafer, Joan (Mike) Wood and Bruce (Jan) Barrons and 11 grandchildren; Kevin, Kelly and Michael Schafer, Emily and Thomas Wood, Morgan, Julie, Howard and Paul Barrons, Mark and Matthew Maiville. His brothers Walter and Norman (Ann), and his sister Adeline Macario survive Howard. Howard was a member of St. Gerard Catholic Church and a former member of Holy Cross Catholic Church. He was a member of the Society of St.

Vincent de Paul and served as president of the Lansing District Council for many years. He will always be remembered for his service to the poor. The Funeral Mass will be celebrated Monday at at St. Gerard Catholic Church with Rev. Fr.

Brian Barrons M. M. and Rev. Fr. John P.

Klein as cocelebrants. Rite of committal will follow in St. Joseph Catholic Cemetery. The family will receive friends Sunday, 2- at St. Gerard Church where the rosary will be prayed at Visitation continues Monday at at the church.

Preceding her in death was her husband, Ray Hayden in 2003; three brothers, William Orland and Donald Stanley.

Clark Lansing Our beloved mother and grandmother, Thelma L. Clark passed away following a lengthy illness on June 15th, 2010. Thelma was born in Spartanburg, SC, on November 9, 1943, to Robert and Anna Smith Wallace.

Following marriage to William N. Clark in 1974, Thelma relocated to Detroit, MI. In 1983, the family moved to Lansing, MI. Thelma worked many years for the Aluminum Company of America and for several State of Michigan departments. She retired as an executive secretary from 1 the Michigan Department of Corrections in March of 2007.

She baptized as one of Jehovah's Witnesses in 1967 and fervently advocated God's Kingdom as the only hope for mankind. She was a member of the Lansing West Congregation of Jehovah's Witnesses. Thelma was preceded in death by her parents and her husband. She leaves to mourn her memory her brother, Marion "Dennis" (Phoebe) Wallace; stepson, Orlando N. (Helen) Clark; son, Nathaniel (Kathleen) Clark; grandchildren, Miles M.

Clark, Julian W. Clark, Marissa N. Clark, Myra R. Clark and Julius N. Clark.

She also leaves to mourn her passing many relatives, in-laws, and cherished friends. Cremation has taken place. Memorial services will be held on June 19th at 4:30 p.m. at the Lansing West Kingdom Hall. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to Jehovah's Witnesses.
